€1 Million Fund To Aid Uninsured Storm Harry Damages, Minister Announces

Transport Malta, together with the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, is launching a €1 million fund for those who suffered damage as a result of Storm Harry and whose losses were not covered by an insurance policy.
This was announced by Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Chris Bonett, who said that this will form part of the other works taking place to fix damages caused by the storm.
This fund will assist with damage sustained in coastal areas and or villages affected by flooding caused by the storm, as well as urban and residential areas that experienced impacts or damage due to fallen trees and vegetation.
This includes damage to vehicles, structural damage, damage to building facades and other services related to the harm caused by the storm.
Any private individual, company or voluntary organisation may apply for a one off grant of up to a maximum of €5,000 per claim.
The funds will be sourced from the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, which is financed through revenue collected from fines.
