Roberta Metsola met with Mark Zuckerberg in Palo Alto, California, for talks focused on the future development of Artificial Intelligence and digital regulation.
During the meeting, Metsola highlighted the work being carried out by Members of the European Parliament to strengthen online safety and shape Europe’s digital future.
Discussions reportedly centred on balancing innovation with safeguards aimed at protecting users online.
In a post shared on social media, Metsola published a photo from the meeting and said the pair discussed the European Parliament’s plans “to protect vulnerable users online, tackle disinformation, boost innovation and competitiveness, and support the digital economy.”
