Enforcement Action Taken On Illegal Ticket Booths

The Sliema Local Council issued a statement informing residents that police are currently carrying out enforcement action by affixing official notices on illegal ticket booths located along The Strand and other parts of the promenade.

The notices include a Thursday 16th April deadline, after which any remaining illegal ticket booths will be forcibly removed.

‘This action is being taken in accordance with Subsidiary Legislation 441.12, published in September 2025, which regulates the use of public space and prohibits such structures without proper authorisation’, the council explained.

‘The Council welcomes this step towards restoring order and ensuring that public spaces remain free, accessible, and in line with the law. We thank the authorities for their action and remain committed to safeguarding Sliema’s public realm.’
