Emergency Bike Ride In Aid Of Puttinu Postponed Due To Election

The Emergency Bike Ride in aid of Puttinu Cares has been officially postponed to 19th June 2026 due to the upcoming election, organisers confirmed.
Despite the change in date, the event’s mission remains firmly intact: to bring the community together in support of families facing serious health challenges.
Organised by members of the Emergency Department, the initiative highlights the reality behind the sirens, where approximately 150 emergency calls are handled daily.
Each call represents a critical moment, reinforcing the dedication of healthcare professionals who work շուրջ the clock to save lives.
The bike ride aims to shift the spotlight, calling on the public to respond in turn. Proceeds and donations will go towards Puttinu Cares, a well-known Maltese organisation that supports patients and families undergoing difficult medical journeys.
Participants are set to gather at the Oncology Parking area near the helipad at Mater Dei Hospital, with meeting time scheduled for 19:30 and departure at 20:30. While there is no participation fee, donations are strongly encouraged.
Organisers say the event is intended not only as a fundraiser, but also as a symbol of unity, resilience, and collective support within the community.
