Elected Officials Pose For Photo As Parliament Reopens

Parliament has officially reopened after the 2026 general election.
After a mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, the elected officials made they way to parliament so that the first parliamentary sitting and swearing in would take place.
Robert Abela was sworn in as Prime Minister, Alex Borg was sworn in as leader of the Opposition, and Carmelo Abela and Bernard Grech were elected as Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.
President Myriam Spiteri Debono also addressed parliament, hailing the democratic process that led to this day.
