Eight-Year-Old Kane Lee Makes Maltese Hip Hop History in Greece

Eight-year-old Kane Lee has made Maltese hip hop history after becoming the youngest Maltese breaker to reach the finals and place second overall at an international competition in Greece held last weekend.
Kane competed in “Prove You’re a Pro”, an all-style hip hop battle that attracted young dancers from several countries. The event featured a qualification round judged by professional international judges, with only the Top 4 performers in the Under-9 category advancing to the finals. Kane successfully secured his place among the finalists, showcasing impressive skill and confidence beyond his years.
In the final battle, Kane went head-to-head with a competitor from Romania, ultimately earning second place and proudly representing Malta on an international stage.
Despite his young age, Kane has been immersed in dance culture since birth, growing up in the studio alongside his parents, who are actively involved in the local scene through Street Elements Dance School. His dedication, musicality and passion for breaking were evident throughout the competition.
This achievement marks an important milestone for Maltese urban culture, highlighting the growing standard of local hip hop and inspiring young dancers across the country.
