The Malta Tourism Authority, in collaboration with Team Blue Lagoon, has announced the installation of eight new visitor information booths across Malta and Gozo as part of preparations for the Summer 2026 season.

The kiosks are designed to make it easier for both tourists and locals to access information before travelling to the Blue Lagoon. They will be located in Sliema (three booths), Buġibba, Mellieħa, Ċirkewwa, Marfa, and Mġarr in Gozo.

Staff at the booths will assist visitors with the “Book, Protect & Enjoy” system, provide guidance on access procedures, environmental protection measures, and safety regulations, while helping create a smoother and more organised experience.

The online booking system remains a central part of the Blue Lagoon management strategy, allowing visitors to reserve free access by selecting one of three daily time slots. Each booking generates a QR code that can be exchanged for a wristband at official entry points, while unauthorised access may result in fines. The system also limits the site to a maximum of 4,000 visitors at any one time to help protect the Natura 2000 area.

Alongside the booking process, existing measures such as expanded swimming zones, enhanced cleaning operations, increased security, lifeguards, police patrols, and environmental monitoring will continue throughout the season.

Team Blue Lagoon and the Malta Tourism Authority said the initiative reflects their ongoing commitment to balancing tourism with sustainability while preserving one of Malta’s most iconic natural attractions for future generations.
