Egyptian Construction Worker Fighting For His Life After Falling Three Storeys

A construction worker is in critical condition after falling approximately three storeys at a construction site in Santa Venera. The incident occurred around 8:15am on Monday on Triq Kanonku Bonnici.

Police confirmed that the victim is a 41-year-old Egyptian man residing in Paola. Emergency services, including the Civil Protection Department and a medical team, were quickly on the scene. The worker was stabilised and transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as suffering life-threatening injuries.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has opened an inquiry into the incident and has appointed a number of experts to assist with the investigation.

Police, alongside the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), are currently conducting investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall.
