Efforts Underway By The Armed Forces Of Malta Following Storm Harry

Maltese authorities have been working tirelessly to clear up debris and safety hazards on the island following Storm Harry.

The severe weather brought with it heavy rain and incredibly strong winds, resulting in infrastructural damage, flooding, collapsed walls, fallen trees, and damage to boats in the sea.

The Armed Forces of Malta, along with other disciplinary forces were out on the scenes attempting to minimise damage and restoring safety to Maltese streets.

In a post shared to their social media, AFM stated that their recruits “have been deployed in operations at sea to assist vessels in difficulties, as well as on the ground to assist in debris and fallen tree removal.”

They concluded by urging the public to continue to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines.

Today, the severe weather conditions have lessened, with winds decreasing to about force 4. Despite this, rain and some further gusts are expected today and throughout the rest of the week.
