Education Minister Clifton Grima Addresses 15% Stipend Increase

Education Minister Clifton Grima took to social media to address the 15% stipend increase this February, as promised in last October’s Budget.

The increase was implemented in January, so this month, students are seeing the increased sum in their accounts for the first time, due to stipend being paid a month later.

Minister Grima reminded that this increase is based on the already invested 10% increase from previous legislation.

“Nowadays we are giving a stipend that is stronger, that makes more of a difference, to those students who choose particular careers,” explained Grima, referring to applied courses like the Masters in Teaching.

“Stipend is an important tool that is going to remain and continue being strengthened,” he explained.
