ECONOMY MINISTER THROWS IT BACK 25 YEARS TO LABOUR YOUTH DAYS

Economy Minister Silvio Schembri, recalled his early political beginnings 25 years ago, during a challenging period for the Labour Party, when he started his journey as President of the Ħal Luqa Labour Youth Forum.
His aim at the time was to modernise the party and make it a natural home for young people eager to engage in politics.
Over the years, the Labour Youth has remained a vibrant platform for ideas and innovation, continuing to foster new generations of political talent.
Speaking on the 75th anniversary of the organisation, the Minister highlighted how the forum has retained its energy and relevance, serving as a training ground for future politicians and a hub for youth engagement in Maltese politics.
Reflecting on his early experiences, the Minister praised the enduring spirit of the Labour Youth, noting that it continues to inspire young people and provide opportunities for leadership, creativity, and political participation even decades after he first joined its ranks.
