Economic Stability Is Key To Attracting Quality Investment, Says Robert Abela

Prime Minister Robert Abela said Malta's continued economic stability is creating the right conditions for businesses to invest, expand and create better opportunities for workers and families.
Speaking during the launch of Eterna Group's new corporate identity, Abela said the government's priority is to ensure Malta remains a country where businesses have the confidence to plan for the long term and continue investing in quality projects.
Eterna Group brings together a number of established Maltese companies operating across the food production, catering, healthcare and community care sectors. Since starting as a small family business in 1989, the group has grown into an organisation employing around 6,600 people while expanding its presence in international markets.

The Prime Minister described the company's growth as an example of how Maltese businesses can succeed through continuous investment, innovation and confidence in their workforce.
Abela said the government's aim is not simply to attract more investment, but to encourage investment that creates higher quality jobs, boosts productivity and generates greater value for the Maltese economy.
He also highlighted Eterna Group's continued investment in its operations, including more than €50 million invested in The Food Factory at Bulebel. According to the Prime Minister, projects of this scale are made possible by a stable economic environment that gives businesses certainty when making long-term decisions.
Abela pointed to the government's policy of shielding families and businesses from significant increases in energy and fuel prices, saying this provides greater certainty over operating costs and encourages further investment and job creation.
He added that Malta's next phase of economic development should place greater emphasis on the quality of growth, with a stronger focus on productivity, technology, skills and added value.
The Prime Minister concluded by congratulating the Eterna Group team, saying the company's journey from a family business to a major employer demonstrates how continued investment by Maltese enterprises can create thousands of opportunities while contributing to the country's economic growth.
