ECABS TECHNOLOGIES EXPANDS INTO CROATIA WITH TAXI FIUME PARTNERSHIP

Maltese technology company eCabs Technologies is expanding into Croatia after leading taxi operator Taxi Fiume began a phased migration to its ride-hailing platform.

The Rijeka-based company has launched its service using eCabs Technologies’ technology, with plans to expand into Zagreb in the coming months.

eCabs Technologies, which started in Malta in 2010, has developed into an international software company providing ride-hailing technology and operational support to taxi operators in competitive and regulated markets. The company’s international growth has been supported by a €23 million investment cycle.

CEO Matthew Bezzina said the partnership represents another important step in the company’s international expansion, describing Taxi Fiume’s move as a commitment to building a modern, data-driven operation.

The migration will take place in stages, beginning with the dispatch system to ensure that existing customers and drivers experience minimal disruption. Rider and driver apps will then be introduced, followed by efforts to attract more customers and drivers.

Taxi Fiume CEO Dean Kovačević said the move aims to improve reliability, reduce cancellations and prepare the company for growing competition.

He said the partnership will allow Taxi Fiume to improve its services while maintaining its brand, drivers and local identity as it expands across Croatia.
