Easter Vigil By Archbishop Sees 36 Adults Baptised

The Easter Vigil was solemnly celebrated on Saturday evening in Malta, with Archbishop Charles Scicluna presiding at the St John’s Co-Cathedral, while Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi led celebrations at the St Paul’s Cathedral.
During the vigil, 36 adults were baptised and welcomed into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Initiation.
The newly baptised come from a diverse range of countries, including Albania, India, Spain, Turkey, Iran, Syria, Hungary, Malaysia, Mauritius, China, and Malta.
In his homily, Archbishop Scicluna encouraged church-goers not to be afraid, urging them to share a message of peace, joy, mercy, and salvation.
Bishop Galea-Curmi also called on them to live the Resurrection by choosing hope, forgiveness, love, and faith, reminding them that Easter invites believers to live as “people of light” rather than “people of the tomb.”
