€14,000 Worth Of Cocaine And Heroin Seized By Police In Valletta

A 44-year-old Valletta resident was arrested on Thursday after being found in possession of a significant quantity of suspected cocaine and heroin, allegedly intended for trafficking, with an estimated street value of €14,000.

Following several days of targeted investigations, police observed the man driving in Marsa. He was immediately stopped, but upon seeing the officers, he appeared to discard a bag from the vehicle.

Acting on reasonable suspicion, police conducted a search of the man and his car. Inside, they discovered approximately 210 wraps of suspected cocaine, 69 wraps of suspected heroin, as well as a sum of cash.

A magisterial inquiry has been opened in connection with the case.

The man is being held at Floriana Police Lock-up and is expected to appear in court today at 11:00hrs.
