26-Year Old Driver Seriously Injured in Late-Night Crash in Ħaż-Żebbuġ

A 26-year-old man was seriously injured following a traffic accident in Ħaż-Żebbuġ late on Wednesday night, police have confirmed.

The incident occurred at around 11pm (2300hrs) in Triq l-Imdina when a collision took place between a Toyota IQ driven by a 26-year-old man from Mellieħa and a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 21-year-old man from Ħaż-Żebbuġ.

Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where initial investigations indicated that the two vehicles had been involved in a crash under circumstances that are still being examined.

A medical team was called on site, and an ambulance transported the 26-year-old driver to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment. He was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

The 21-year-old driver was not reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
