DR LYDIA ABELA SUPPORTS ANIMALS THROUGH RIGAL B’IMĦABBA B’DIFFERENZA INITIATIVE

Prime Minister’s wife, Dr Lydia Abela, recently visited Noah’s Ark Dog Sanctuary Malta to deliver the food donations collected during her Rigal b’Imħabba b’Differenza initiative last December.

Rigal b’Imħabba b’Differenza is part of the wider Rigal b’Imħabba (“Gift with Love”) programme, led by Dr Abela and her daughter, which aims to spread kindness during the Christmas season. The main initiative gathers thousands of gifts donated by the public so that vulnerable children, who might otherwise go without presents, receive something at Christmas.

The b’Differenza branch of the initiative specifically supports animals in need, collecting food and other supplies for local sanctuaries. It was inspired by the late Jake Vella’s wish to raise awareness for abandoned animals. This year, the initiative has grown to include Gozo for the first time.

While Rigal b’Imħabba focuses on giving gifts to children, Rigal b’Imħabba b’Differenza adds a “difference” by encouraging people to also remember and support animals in need during the festive season.
