DOGS UP FOR ADOPTION TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT BOV SUPER CUP FINAL

Animal welfare took centre stage ahead of kick-off at the BOV Super Cup Final, as the event supported a fundraising initiative in aid of the Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) and at promoting dogs currently up for adoption and encouraging the public to adopt rather than buy.
Before the match, fans and teams were welcomed at the stadium by rescued dogs Diego, Maradona, Poppy, Issac, Pixie and Tequila, highlighting the importance of responsible adoption and long-term care for animals.
The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Malta Football Association, MSPCA, the Hon. Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said, and the Office of the Commissioner for Animal Welfare.
Donations collected during the event will go towards supporting the care and rehabilitation of rescued animals, while also raising awareness about adoption as a responsible and life-changing choice.
The initiative formed part of wider efforts to use major sporting events to promote social causes and community responsibility.
