Doctors For Choice Claim Pills In Abortion Key Safes Around Malta Already Used Up

Doctors for Choice, a Maltese non-profit organisation of healthcare workers dedicated to helping women access abortion care in Malta, just shared some shocking news.

A number of key safes containing abortion pills were places across Malta and Gozo by activist group Women On Waves on the 16th of April.

Today, Doctors For Choice shared that all the padlocks coining the pills have been used up.

On a statement on their social media, Doctors For Choice stated “The padlocks have already been used up! A sad reflection of how many women this country is failing by not providing the care they need on the national health service.”

Pregnant persons across Malta and Gozo could email Women On Waves to get the location and code for the padlocks if they required an abortion.

‘Women who are less than 9 weeks pregnant and in need of an abortion can email us to get the location and the code of the safes’, the group explained in a statement.
