In an initiative now in its sixth year, members of the disciplined forces once again reaffirmed their social commitment by collecting and distributing food supplies gathered through a solidarity drive to various residential homes across Malta. The initiative was also attended by Minister Byron Camilleri.

Carried out in collaboration with several entities within the Ministry for Home Affairs, Security and Employment, the initiative aims to assist those most in need while continuing to strengthen the values of solidarity, generosity and social responsibility.

The selected locations included children’s homes and centres that support victims of domestic violence, such as Dar Milja, Dar Sagra Familja, the Sisters at Dar San Ġużepp in Ħaż-Żabbar and the Ursuline Sisters in Tal-Pietà. Assistance was also provided to the Laboratory of Peace in Ħal Far, run by Father Dijonisju Mintoff.

Minister for Home Affairs, Security and Employment Byron Camilleri praised the initiative and thanked all those involved for their commitment, stating:

“This is an initiative that goes beyond the everyday duties of the disciplined forces. It is a clear testament to the compassion and sense of solidarity carried by these women and men, not only in safeguarding the country’s security, but also in protecting the dignity and wellbeing of those most in need of our help.”
