Director General At Cleansing And Maintenance Division Calls Out Illegal Dumping

Ramon Deguara, the Director General at the Cleansing & Maintenance Division, has called out the illegal dumping of garbage on his social media.
He questioned why people still opt to dump their garbage in the street when the Maltese government offers numerous free cleaning services.
"Today, we received this complaint from the mayor of Rabat Sandro Craus," shared Deguara along with a picture of piles of garbage in the streets.
He urged people to make use of the many free services that the Cleansing and Maintenance Division offers, while reminding people to report illegal dumping via the clean and upkeep application or call 1718.
"Immediately, this inconvenient irresponsibility was removed by the workers from the Division of Cleansing and Maintenance," concluded Deguara, "We continue working because we want a clean country."
The clean up was done in collaboration with local NGO Coast Is Clear, and young students from De La Salle School, resulting in the collection of 520 kilos of garbage collected.
