Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Ian Borg visited Mount Carmel Hospital as one of his first engagements since taking on his new ministerial role.

Sharing the visit on Facebook, Borg highlighted the newly completed wards at the hospital, which have begun welcoming patients in recent days as part of ongoing improvements to the facility.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that healthcare facilities across Malta are maintained to the highest possible standards, stressing the importance of protecting patients' dignity while creating a better working environment for healthcare professionals.

Borg said he will continue working to improve the country's healthcare infrastructure, with the aim of providing quality care in modern and well-maintained facilities.

He concluded his message by thanking the hospital's management and staff for their dedication and continued commitment to caring for patients.

The visit marks one of Borg's first public engagements since assuming responsibility for the health portfolio.
