Decomposing Male Body Found At St George's Bay

Police are investigating the discovery of a body in St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, in the early hours of the morning.

Authorities were alerted at around 1am after a report was received of a body spotted in the sea. Police officers immediately proceeded to the area, where the body of a man was retrieved from the water.

The deceased has not yet been identified, as the body was found in an advanced state of decomposition. Preliminary investigations suggest that the man had been in the sea for several days prior to the discovery.

Magistrate Dr Joseph Mifsud LL.D has been informed of the case and has appointed a magisterial inquiry. Several experts have been tasked with assisting in the investigation, while an autopsy is expected to be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.

Police investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the case and the identity of the deceased.
