DANIEL CHIRCOP WELCOMES LABOUR PROPOSAL FOR FREE MENTAL HEALTH CHECK UPS

The Labour Party has proposed launching a pilot project offering free mental health check-ups with a psychologist of each individual’s choice. The initiative would be available to people across different age groups and forms part of a wider government plan aimed at improving citizens’ overall wellbeing.
This proposal ties into a broader strategy by the Labour government to increase national wellbeing by 25% across 10 key areas, placing mental health at the centre of its social agenda.
Comedian Daniel Chircop welcomed the initiative, speaking from personal experience about the importance of mental health awareness. He emphasised that the more people openly discuss mental health, the greater the awareness and reach, helping more individuals seek support.
Chircop also highlighted how accessible services like this can make a real difference, noting that a person may have success, money, and love, but without good mental health, everything can be lost in an instant.
