The official Daily Mail news platform has hailed Valletta as the best city in the world – and it’s only a three-hour flight from the UK.

The article highlighted the Maltese capital’s Mediterranean sunshine, stunning architecture, delicious cuisine and affordable prices, calling it one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for British travellers.

It also noted Valletta’s royal connection, recalling how the late Queen Elizabeth II lived just outside the city during the early years of her marriage to Prince Philip, while he served in the Royal Navy.

Daily Mail wrote, “Valletta is known for its Mediterranean sun, as well as fabulous architecture, great food and impressive prices.”

According to the publication, “A beer in the city will only set you back around €2.12 (£1.85), according to Holidays in Malta.”

The article added that Malta enjoys pleasant weather all year round, with average temperatures of around 17°C even in December.

It also praised the island’s culinary heritage, noting that Malta is known for its national dish of rabbit stew, as well as popular snacks such as pastizzi (savoury pastries), ftira (Maltese bread) and qassatat (small pies).
