Dad Breaks Local Record Running & Swimming For His Sons

Brian Galea has officially set a new national endurance record after completing an extraordinary route across Malta, Comino and Gozo to raise awareness about a rare condition affecting his twin children.
Motivated by their daily struggles, he undertook the challenge to highlight the strength people find when dealing with physical pain, mirroring the difficulties his children face.
His achievement combines 32 kilometres of barefoot running with 4 kilometres of open-water swimming, completed in a total time of 6 hours, 13 minutes and 34 seconds.
The route took him from Mosta to Marfa, across to Comino, over the island on foot, then onward to Ħondoq ir-Rummien before finishing at the Ta' Pinu Shrine in Għarb.
The record was formally recognised during a presentation held at the Ċestine shop in Vjal l-Indipendenza, Mosta.
The event was attended by Dr Lydia Abela, who met the family and showed support for the awareness campaign behind Brian’s remarkable accomplishment.
