CPD Rescue After Five Swimmers Get Lost At Sea In Blue Grotto

Rescuers from Fire Stations 1, 5 and 8 responded to a search and rescue operation involving five swimmers who got lost at sea while swimming in the Blue Grotto area.
Three of the swimmers managed to make their way safely back to shore, while the remaining two had to be rescued by Civil Protection rescuers.
The two swimmers were brought on board CPD Delta and transferred safely to land.
A medical team from the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department was also on scene. The swimmers were assessed by the medical personnel and discharged at the scene following said assessment.
The CPD thanked the Malta Police Force, the Armed Forces of Malta and the Mater Dei Emergency Department team for their assistance.
