CPD Issue Yellow Weather Warning As Winds Expected To Hit Force 8

The Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow weather warning for the Maltese Islands, set to come into effect from tomorrow morning, as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate significantly.
According to the department, conditions are forecast to worsen during the early hours of Sunday, with strong winds reaching Force 7 to 8 (near gale) at times. These winds are expected to be accompanied by strong gusts and rough seas, potentially leading to hazardous conditions, particularly in exposed and coastal areas.
Members of the public are being urged to exercise increased caution, especially during the morning and daytime hours.
The Civil Protection Department has advised residents to secure loose and outdoor objects, avoid working at heights such as rooftops, balconies and scaffolding, and to remain alert to rapidly changing weather conditions.
The public is also reminded to follow official instructions and advisories issued by the authorities. In the event of an emergency, individuals are urged to contact 112 immediately.
The Civil Protection Department confirmed that its teams are on standby and are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with other emergency services. Further updates will be issued should weather conditions change.
Residents are advised to stay informed and take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
