CPD Issue Orange Weather Warning For Gale Force Winds

An Orange weather warning has been issued by Civil Protection Malta as strong west-northwest winds are forecast to reach gale force across exposed parts of the Maltese Islands.

The warning is in effect until noon and may be renewed as conditions develop.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise extreme caution, particularly in coastal and elevated areas where winds are expected to be strongest.

Rough seas and powerful waves are likely along the shoreline, prompting warnings to stay away from breakwaters and coastal roads.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and avoid working at heights, including rooftops and scaffolding. Drivers should take extra care in open areas where sudden crosswinds may occur.

Civil Protection officials continue to monitor the situation and have urged the public to follow official updates and instructions to ensure safety.
