Cocaine, Heroin & Ecstasy Among Drugs Found In Two Separate Drug Busts

Yesterday, at around 1100hrs, whilst police were conducting routine patrols in Triq Ġulju, St Paul’s Bay, they noticed a person driving a motorcycle negligently. The driver was stopped, and was found to be in Malta illegally.
The man, a 28 year old Colombian man, was arrested and was taken to his residence in Ħaż-Żebbuġ so that his documents can be checked.
There, police discovered various sachets with illegal substances and other items related to drug trafficking. The police confiscated around 40 sachets of suspected cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and ecstasy.
Later on during the day, at around 1800hrs, during another patrol, police noticed a vehicle which raised suspicion in Triq in-Nagħal.
In the vehicle, a 37 year old man and 43 year old woman were found, with a search on the vehicle yielding 56 sachets of suspected heroin, cocaine, synthetic cannabis and amounts of cash.
The police continued their search in the man’s Ħal Qormi residence, where more drugs and money in cash were found. The Colombian man is expected to be arraigned in court today whereas investigations regarding the Marsa arrests are still ongoing.
