CLINT AZZOPARDI FLORES CONFIRMS GENERAL ELECTION BID WITH LABOUR PARTY

Economist Clint Azzopardi Flores has officially announced that he will be contesting the upcoming general election on the Labour Party ticket, confirming his candidacy for the 2nd and 9th districts in a video shared on Facebook.

In the video, Azzopardi Flores thanked supporters in advance and appealed for continued trust, pledging to remain close to the people. He said his decision builds on the commitment he made during his previous European Parliament campaign to stay engaged beyond policy discussions and remain accessible to voters.

Addressing Prime Minister Robert Abela during a Labour Party event held in Santa Venera on Monday evening, Azzopardi Flores said, “You asked me to help you beyond policy, and today here I am with my application in my pocket,” signalling his formal step into national politics.

His announcement follows his earlier political run in the 2024 European Parliament elections, where he stood as a Labour candidate but was not elected. Despite this, he has remained active in public discourse, particularly on economic and policy matters.
