Civli Protection Malta Rescue Turtle In Distress In Birzebbugia

Yesterday, Civil Protection Malta dispatched personnel from Station 5 which led a rescue of a turtle in distress.
Earlier, two members of the public reported seeing a turtle in distress at the surface of the sea near Wied ix-Xoqqa in Birzebbugia.
It was soon discovered that the turtle had fishing line coming out of its mouth and cloaca, that in turn was stuck to a pipe.
After its prompt rescue, Civil Protection Malta handed the turtle over to Nature Trust - FEE Malta for care and rehabilitation.
Nature Trust - FEE Malta extended its gratitude to Civil Protection Malta, stating that they always come to their rescue when wildlife is in need.
