Civil Protection Retrieve Dead Body From Sea At Ġnejna Bay

A body was discovered this evening along the shoreline at Ġnejna Bay, prompting an emergency response from Civil Protection Malta.

The body was first sighted in the sea, after which rescuers from Fire Station 3 were deployed to the area.

Upon arrival, a coordinated search and recovery operation was carried out, resulting in the retrieval of the body from the water.

The individual was found with no signs of life and was in an advanced state of decomposition.

A medical doctor later attended the scene and certified the person deceased. Due to the condition of the body, immediate identification was not possible.

The case has since been formally handed over to the Malta Police Force, who have launched an investigation to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Investigations remain ongoing, and further details are expected to be released in due course.
