CIVIL PROTECTION RESPONDS TO CAFÉ SMOKE IN SLIEMA

Civil Protection Malta responded to reports of smoke coming from a cafeteria on Bisazza Street, Sliema, on Tuesday morning, shortly after 8:00am.
Firefighters from Fire Stations 2, 4 and 11 were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found smoke emanating from the premises. As a precautionary measure, several people were evacuated from the surrounding area.
The fire was brought under control by Civil Protection personnel, and no injuries were reported.
Civil Protection Malta thanked the Malta Police Force and the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department for their assistance during the operation.
Civil Protection workers remain on site as investigations and safety checks continue.
