Civil Protection Malta Officers Continue Work In Portugal

Over the past weekend, Civil Protection Malta officers continued their fight against wildfires in Portugal, working alongside the local firefighting squad in a joint effort.
The CPD Malta officers were ‘once again instrumental in battling wildfires that threatened the town of Ervedosa, located in northwestern Portugal, approximately 450km from Lisbon.
‘The CPD is currently in Portugal as part of the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Mechanism’s Pre-Positioning Programme, providing vital assistance in combating the ongoing wildfire emergency.’
A second team will have departed from Malta on Sunday 31st to continue the operations, with the first team returning to Malta that same evening.
