Civil Protection Malta Aid In Disaster Management In Libya

Officers from the Civil Protection Malta are deployed to Libya in support of the Libyan National Centre for Emergencies and Disaster Management.
The team, made up of three senior fire officers and one sergeant from The Malta Police Force, is focusing on two main tasks.
These include assessing ground cracks which formed in the Isbeya area, around 50km from Tripoli, to provide preliminary technical evaluations.
The other big task involves assisting with collection of water samples from a Zuwara lake to analyse water quality.
This is part of an effort to strengthen international cooperation while enhancing the officers’ expertise for emergence response.
