Carmelo Farrugia Expresses Honour And Gratitude At Being Nominated As Parliament Speaker

Carmelo Abela has expressed his gratitude for the trust that the government is showing in him with his nomination as speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta.

He shared that it was not an easy decision to give up his seat in parliament, yet this had to be done so the electorate majority could be respected.

Abela said that in this moment, he would like to thank all those that helped him, and those who expressed trust in him in the previous general election, while promising to stay with them and close to them.

He concluded by remarking that he remains committed to working with experience, enthusiasm, and integrity for the people and for the country, while acknowledging Dr Anglu Farrugia for his years serving as parliament speaker.
