“Built To Stand The Test Of Time”: Marigold Foundation Unveils Powerful Artistic Photograph At Grandmaster’s Palace

The Marigold Foundation unveiled a striking photographic artwork at the historic Grandmaster’s Palace yesterday evening, bringing together art, architecture and the human body in a powerful message about time, change and the importance of caring for our health.
Entitled “Built to Stand the Test of Time,” the artwork forms part of the Foundation’s 12th Pink October Movember campaign, themed “Every Body Has Seasons. Every Season Deserves Care.”

Set against the magnificent architecture of the Grandmaster’s Palace, the photograph features individuals of different ages, body shapes and backgrounds, united in a thought-provoking composition that celebrates the human body in all its forms.
The concept draws a parallel between the centuries-old Palace, whose walls have weathered generations and the passage of time, and our own bodies, which similarly carry the marks of life’s changing seasons.
Time leaves its mark. On stone. On architecture. On us.
Conceived by Michelle Muscat for The Marigold Foundation, the project was developed in artistic collaboration with Jerome Mifsud of Pink Olive and acclaimed photographer Lorella Castillo, whose photographic vision and expertise transformed the concept into a remarkable work of art.
Speaking at the unveiling, Michelle Muscat explained the message behind the initiative:
“For centuries, these walls have stood the test of time. Our bodies deserve that same opportunity. We cannot stop time or prevent every change, but through knowledge, prevention, screening and early detection, we can give ourselves a better chance of living healthier, longer lives. This artwork is a reminder that every body, regardless of age, shape or story, deserves care.”

Special recognition was given to the individuals who participated in the photograph, whose courage and willingness to be seen made the project possible.
“They allowed themselves to be seen so that others might stop and look at themselves a little differently. Their participation has given this artwork its humanity and its purpose,” Muscat added.
Beyond its artistic and educational significance, the photograph will also serve a philanthropic purpose.
The Marigold Foundation has launched a silent auction of the artwork, with proceeds supporting this year’s Pink October Movember oncology project, focused on improving dedicated transport for oncology patients in Gozo travelling for treatment.
With the support of Heritage Malta, the artwork will remain on public display at the Grandmaster’s Palace until 3 December 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the installation, reflect on its message and participate in the silent auction.
The Foundation expressed its appreciation to Heritage Malta for its collaboration, to the creative team behind the project and, above all, to the participants who placed their trust in the initiative.

Through this project, The Marigold Foundation continues to explore innovative ways of bringing health awareness into public spaces, encouraging conversations that extend beyond traditional campaigns and medical settings.
Because we cannot stop time. But we can give more life to it.
Every Body Has Seasons. Every Season Deserves Care.
