Budget 2027 Has Failed To Address Malta’s Education And Transport Concerns, PN Says

The Partit Nazzjonalista says that Budget 2027 has failed to address Malta’s traffic and education problems.
At a press conference, PN’s Shadow Minister for Sustainable Mobility, Ivan Castillo, and Shadow Minister for Education and Citizenship, Jerome Caruana Cilia, said that the Maltese public has received no reassurance that the Government is working towards improving congestion and educational standards.
Castillo said that, despite over 3 hours of speeches, the Government’s ‘Malta in Motion’ plan was never brought up. He says this is a sign that the Government has no intention of honouring their pre-election promises.
The MPs also criticised the Budget’s transport measures for foreign workers, saying it is unclear what the initiatives are meant to accomplish.
On education, Caruana Cilia said the Budget offered no concrete solutions to the shortages of textbooks and Learning Support Educators (LSEs) that occur at the beginning of each school year.
To address these concerns, PN have proposed a National Conference on Education to help strengthen future education policies.
