Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Robert Abela said that tomorrow’s Budget will be one of the most ambitious and socially focused in Malta’s history.

Speaking at the Labour Party’s 2025 General Conference, he described it as a strong and forward-looking Budget designed to improve the quality of life for families while strengthening economic growth and stability.

Abela said the Budget will feature pension increases, grants for businesses, stability in energy and fuel prices, and a rise in children’s allowance, while introducing no new taxes.

He emphasised that the government’s priority remains supporting families, describing a strong family as a guarantee for Malta’s future.

He also announced that the Budget will invest heavily in digital transformation, preparing the workforce and economy for an era that relies more on technology and artificial intelligence.

These measures aim to create new opportunities for innovation, productivity, and sustainable growth.

Citing the International Monetary Fund’s projections, Dr Abela said Malta’s economy is expected to remain one of the fastest-growing in the Eurozone until 2030, driven by continued investment and stability.

He noted that government assistance in recent years has helped families save thousands of euros through measures keeping energy and fuel costs stable.
