Brave Divers And Wildlife Rescue Team Save Entangled Turtle In Maltese Waters

Earlier this morning, divers from Dune Malta spotted a turtle struggling to dive between Comino and Armier. On approaching the animal, they discovered that she had ingested multiple ropes and fishing lines, which were visible protruding from her mouth and attached to a larger mass of entanglement.

The divers carefully brought the turtle aboard their boat and immediately contacted the Wildlife Rescue Team to coordinate her pick-up from the shore.

The turtle, affectionately named Dune, is suffering from a severely swollen front flipper caused by entanglement. She has three ropes and a fishing line coming out of her mouth and is currently unable to dive. Her recovery is expected to be long and complicated, but the rescue team’s veterinarian is committed to providing all necessary treatment to save her.
