Born In 2007? Here’s Your Chance To Travel Across Europe For Free!

Young people born in 2007 are being offered the chance to travel across Europe for free through the European Commission’s DiscoverEU initiative.
The programme, part of Erasmus+, will award 40,000 travel passes to 18-year-olds, allowing them to explore the continent and experience the benefits of border-free travel as Europe marks 40 years since the Schengen Agreement.
Applicants must have been born between 1 January and 31 December 2007 and be citizens or residents of an EU Member State or one of the countries associated with Erasmus+, including Iceland, Norway, Serbia, Türkiye, Liechtenstein and North Macedonia.
Eligible applicants must complete a short quiz about the European Union through the European Youth Portal by noon on 13 November 2025.

Successful participants will receive a DiscoverEU travel pass, giving them up to 30 days of free travel between 1 March 2026 and 31 May 2027.
Travel will primarily be by train, with other transport options available for those living on islands or in remote areas. Participants will also receive a DiscoverEU discount card, which offers benefits on accommodation, culture, food, sport, and public transport across 36 European countries.
Young people can travel alone or form small groups of up to five friends. Selected travellers will also become DiscoverEU ambassadors, sharing their experiences on social media and encouraging others to take part in this unique opportunity to explore Europe’s diversity, culture, and history.
