Black Rock Senior Managing Director Congratulates Robert Abela On Election Win

BlackRock Senior Managing Director Adebayo “Bayo” Ogunlesi congratulated Prime Minister Robert Abela on his election victory during a meeting in New York, telling him: “You do a good job, that’s what happens.”

Ogunlesi, who is also the founder, Chairman and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners and sits on BlackRock’s Board of Directors, met Abela as part of discussions focused on potential further investment in Malta.

BlackRock is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, with the meeting forming part of a series of engagements held by the Prime Minister in New York.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, discussions centred on opportunities for additional investment in Malta, with Abela highlighting the country’s economic performance, stability and efforts to attract high-quality investment in strategic and innovative sectors.

The Prime Minister said Malta must continue to position itself as a credible and competitive partner for international investors, while ensuring that investment translates into quality jobs and opportunities for Maltese and Gozitan workers and businesses.

The meeting formed part of Abela’s engagements in New York surrounding the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
