Birżebbuġa Promenade Masterplan Set to Begin in 2026

During the 2026 Budget speech, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana announced that the largest capital project expected to start next year is the implementation of the promenade Masterplan in Birżebbuġa, led by Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia.
The project is set to face significant challenges, as construction in a maritime environment demands specialised designs.
This includes careful selection of materials, lighting, and services that operate on clean and renewable energy, as well as the development of extensions reaching out into the sea.
