Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleanliness Glenn Bedingfield has announced that new vans which will be conducting plastic bottle pick ups around Malta and Gozo have officially arrived, with the service being expanded in the coming weeks.

The BCRS Collection Scheme was kicked off to accommodate 60+ persons and disability card holders.

Users had to comply make an appointment by calling 1718 and officers would collect the plastic/glass/cans directly from their home.

The new mobile bottle collection service, BCRS Home 60+, is being rolled out in Malta to make it easier for residents aged 60 and above to return bottles for the Beverage Container Refund Scheme (BCRS).

The initiative was also extended to Blue Badge holders, regardless of age, ensuring that those with mobility challenges can take part without needing to visit a BCRS machine.

Collections are available in specific localities and are arranged by appointment.
