According to data by Eurostat, the average full time adjusted salary of Maltese employees in 2024 was €33,499.
This is up from €31,250 in 2023, which in turn was up from €30,451 in 2022. The average annual full-time adjusted salary in the EU was €39,800.
This reflected a 5.2% increase from €37,800 in 2023.
The highest average annual full time adjusted salary was registered in Luxembourg at €83,000.
Denmark and Ireland followed at €71,600 and €61,100. The lowest was registered in Bulgaria at €15,400, followed by Greece and Hungary at €18,000 and €18,500 respectively.
