Authorities Warn Of Fake Outstanding Fine Messages

The Malta Police Force and LESA are warning the public about a new scam involving fake messages claiming recipients have an outstanding traffic contravention.
The messages contain a link which leads to a fraudulent website that authorities say “looks identical” to the official LESA website.
The public is being urged not to click on the link or enter any personal or banking details, as scammers may use the information to commit fraud.
Authorities are also advising anyone who receives one of these messages to delete it and report it whenever possible.
“Always think before you click,” the Malta Police Force said, reminding the public to remain vigilant when receiving unexpected messages or links.
