August 2026 Breaks Records: The Hottest August Malta Has Seen In 100 Years

August 2026 was a record breaking month, as it was the hottest of its kind in the last 100 years.
Local weather page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’ reported that last month was the hottest recorded August in the last century, reaching an average temperature of 31.5°C.
The hottest day of the month sat at a whopping 41°C, with the lowest recorded temperature at 25°C.
August 2026 also saw no rain, storms, or hale.
Malta has not experienced an August with rainfall since 2020.
Another interesting phenomenon was the wave of heat which hit the Maltese islands towards the end of the month.
Winds peaked at Force 6 and sea temperatures sat at around 29.4°C.
