Armed Forces Of Malta Undergo Tactical Shooting Training In Sicily

14 personnel from C Company and Special Operations Unit of the Armed Forces of Malta participated in the ‘Range Time, Tactical and Dynamic Shooting’ exercise of the Italian Army’s ‘Aosta’ Brigade in Sicily.

This forms part of ongoing international military cooperation initiatives, with the activity being part of bilateral cooperation programme between Italian Defence General Staff and the Armed Forces of Malta.

It was aimed at enhancing interoperability through exchange of procedures, techniques and training methodologies in the field of tactical and dynamic shooting.

Throughout the exercise, the AFM personnel took part in a series of theoretical and practical training sessions delivered by instructors from the 62nd Infantry Regiment ‘Sicilia’.

‘The programme focused on modern weapon handling techniques, safety procedures and dynamic shooting drills, contributing to the development of specialist skills and the strengthening of operational capabilities.’

This was an important opportunity for professional exchange and sharing of expertise between Maltese and Italian military personnel, reinforcing the longstanding relationship of cooperation between Malta and Italy in security and defence.
