In a video posted on his FaceBook, Byron Camilleri, Minister for Internal Affairs, Employment and Security, stated: “Today the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Malta are receiving their pay check, and they’re experiencing the raises that we agreed on in the collective agreement of last June, the second one in five years. We’re going to keep investing in them, we’re going to keep investing in their families, we’re going to keep rewarding hard work.”

“We’re going to keep investing in them, we’re going to keep investing in their families, we’re going to keep rewarding hard work,” concluded Camilleri.

Last June, a landmark Collective Agreement was signed for 1,800 members of Malta’s Armed Forces (AFM), marking an investment of €70 million.

Prime Minister Robert Abela described the deal as the “best-ever Agreement signed for the military,” highlighting it as a continuation of government efforts to enhance pay and conditions for public employees.
